Workshop with Dr. Lori Haskell February 13 & 14, 2018
The Regional Domestic Violence Unit & the University of Victoria and the BC Post-Secondary Counsellors Association in collaboration with the Provincial Office of Domestic Violence present a free two-day workshop to registered guests with Dr. Lori Haskell on trauma informed approaches to working with survivors and those impacted by domestic and sexualized violence.
This workshop will:
-Explore the neurobiology of traumatic experience
-Describe how specific experiences impact survivors of trauma, memory, reactions and behavior
-Enhance knowledge in conducting trauma informed interviews/receiving disclosures/reporting
-Identify strategies for working with clients to facilitate trust and communication
-Offer advanced therapeutic and clinical intervention for survivors of sexual violence
